Ballhawk League 2010 : Week 3

Nick Pelescak (seen below with his son Dominick) wins week 3 with a solid 33 ball tally through four games.

Erik Jabs, for the third consecutive week finishes as the runner up.  The two Pittsburgh ballhawks did their best to capitalize on the Pirates final home stand in April, with Erik snagging two foul balls in one game, and Nick grabbing a Ryan Braun home run.

Other notes from this week:

  • Joe Faraguna moves into third place in the league, despite only appearing in three games.
  • Zack Hample finished without any balls in a week for the first time in a long while.  He is a favorite to win week 4 as he comes off the bench for a three game series in Cleveland.
  • Casey Ward snagged yet another game HR ball, leading the ballhawk league with two.
  • The Happy Youngster, taking time off from ballhawking to be with his family, welcomed his son into the world:

Finally, there’s a fourth ballhawk from Milwaukee joining the fray next week.  Here’s an introductory paragraph from him:
My name is Matt Sabel. I got started with ballhawking the beginning last season going to 38 games and 37 of those being at night games
at Miller Park so I can see both batting sessions. I get there around
4:30 where me and my buddy have our spot in Friday’s during Brewers
batting practice and then moving to various places around the park
including in the Tundra territory sometime. I have gear from every team
the Brewers play so that I have a better chance of getting a ball from
the opposing team. Last season I collected 100 baseball total and I
have 16 so far this year.
