7-23-10 PNC Park

This entry will be short and sweet.

Upon entering the stadium – this was the scene:

The Pirates were big babies and didn’t take batting practice today.  I can’t remember the last time a team didn’t take batting practice during a night game on a sunny day.

It was pretty hot and humid today, so I’m guessing John Russell didn’t want to get his players tired, despite only scoring two runs the night before.  Memo to Russell: Your players are major leaguers, not little leaguers.

Luckily, there was a ball in the outfield that Carlos Garcia came out to retrieve.  He had been working with an infielder at second base.

didnt know that was 900 ystrday, sweet, i know you would have liked to catch that stairs bp hr on the fly

Sorry you didn’t get more balls from the Padres. Matt Stairs ALWAYS bombs to RF. I love his bp session. Anyway, the Saturday game looked pretty crowded because of the concert. Looking forward to your entry on that one.

Leigh

Ian,
Thanks.

Nick,
It would’ve been nice to catch it on the fly, but I’ll still take it I guess.

Leigh,
Saturday was crowded, but the early entrance for STH helped out.
