Washington State Part 3
Today would be the last day in Washington for me, and it was a travel day back home. I had seen two Dave Matthews Band concerts at the Gorge, and it was time for me to fly back.
I woke up early and drove back to Seattle to catch my plane for Minneapolis which was scheduled for departure at 10:40.
On the way back, I once again got to take in the beautiful scenery – except this time it was the early morning.![]()
I arrived at the airport at 8:40 AM, dropped off my rental car, and then sat in the terminal for almost two hours before boarding my plane. On the way to Minneapolis, I had a window seat, but it was so cloudy, I couldn’t see anything, so I slept the whole way.
At Minneapolis International, I had almost a three hour layover, and there wasn’t free wi-fi, so I passed the time by reading newspapers and playing on my phone.
I had a lifetime first at the Airport – I visited a Starbucks for the first time ever in my life. I hate coffee. I’ve had only one teaspoon of it in my entire life, and it was when I was four years old. I didn’t like it, and haven’t tasted it since. It would be a strawberry/banana smoothie that I would get at Starbucks, and it was fantastic.
A bit later I boarded my plane for Pittsburgh, which ended up departing an hour late due to minor rain storms, and arrived back at Pittsburgh International around 11 PM thereby concluding my whirlwind weekend trip to Washington State and the Gorge.
I had missed three Pirates games and three full batting practices, which likely cost me about 20 balls, but it was worth it.
