2009 Summer Tour Planning
With the 2009 team schedules released, I decided to begin planning my 2009 MLB stadium tour schedule. I call it a stadium tour, even though I won’t be seeing an enormous amount of stadiums. Keep in mind, I’ve only been to 3 major league stadiums through this past season.
In 2009 I would like to attend 7 major league stadiums. These include PNC Park (Pittsburgh Pirates), Progressive Field (Cleveland Indians), Coors Field (Colorado Rockies), Great American Ballpark (Cincinnati Reds), Oriole Park at Camden Yards (Baltimore Orioles), Nationals Park (Washington Nationals), and Citizens Bank Park (Philadelphia Phillies). Attending a new stadium is very new and exciting, so I’m really looking forward to next year.
In my planning, I first took into account the Pirates’ schedule. Since PNC Park is only 15 minutes from my house, I hope to be in attendance at all of their home games. During the Pirates road trips, I hope to take some road trips of my own.
Here’s how my planned 2009 schedule breaks down:
April: 14 definite games, 2 weekend road trips.
May: 14 definite games, 3 possible road trips.
June: 19 definite games, 2 possible road trips. (What a month!)
July: 8 definite games, 5 possible road trips which could lead to maybe 10 more games.
August: 18 definite games, 3 possible road trips
September: 15 definite games, 2 possible road trips.
This gives me a total of 88 definite games that I would like to attend. These plans could change based on factors such as Dave Matthews Band concerts, but I would love to attend around 90 games.
I am also setting my official goal for the 2009 season at 300 balls. That’s 3.33 balls a game. Might be pretty tough given 2008 ratio. Stay tuned to this blog to find out if I can make it happen!
